I dance with you into heaven
- this was the title of yesterday's evening in Dresden. And it was a heavenly evening with Carmen, Mirusia, the 3 Tenors and a gorgeous new tenor. The Semper Opera house is very impressive . André told us at the beginning, that they were still waiting for special guests - a young couple who just married today in Dresden and moved in dressed in their wedding gown to the tune of the wedding march played by André & JSO. André told us that they are members of the Viennese debutants.
The Viennese "Debütantinnen & Debütanten" were dancing on a higher stage right behind the JSO.
Some of the high lights:
Carmen and Mirusia came up , dressed as little porcellain dolls and sang Plaisir d'amour.
The new tenor performed a piece from the opera "Babier von Sevilla":Figaro
The 3 Tenors sang a very impressive piece from the opera "Tosca".
Carmen and the new tenor sang from the operetta "Zigeunerbaron" -Wer uns getraut
Carmen: Hör ich Zimbalklänge
Mirusia: Wishing you were somehow here again
Mirusia and the new tenor performed from Phantom of the Opera "All I ask of you".
and of cause many waltzes, marches:
Radetzkymarch, Gold & Silber ( Gold & Silver), El Cani, Blue Danube, Adieu Mein kleiner Gardeoffiier, Strauß & Co Medley.
I dance with you into heaven.

In the intermission we were offered a glass of champaigne for free !

The audience was so exited by the whole evening and continued applauding after the encores, so they came back and performed all together again the last piece I dance with you into heaven.

Unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures - the opera does not allow it, as Andre told us. So I cannot share these moments with you.
The concert will be aired on October 29 by the ZDF- German broadcast.
Just a word regarding the new tenor, he seems to be a member of the Maastrecht Staar. Grace to Sue, we have now a picture of the new tenor ( many thanks Sue )
